Default UPS: MOU numbers

So we are way short. Now what? Over 500 have not signed up, maybe they are just waiting to sign up last minute, kinda like the last second schedule bidders, Surprise!

Future looks bleak....

Default Where are the bottom 300?

Only 350? How many that signed up are in the bottom 300? How many captains want to keep their seat?... not many not many, you boys in trouble out there.

What about all those FO's out there that are about to become more junior? Give a little now and save a lot later.

It makes no sense not to at least offer. Nobody wants to take a shot at getting XMAS and Thanksgiving off?

There will be last minute people, I for one haven't finalized my offer, but it will be there by the end

I am very very disappointed in our group right now. Anyone that has not signed up (for at least one bid period) should be ashamed of themselves.

Scheduling is up 8%!!!!!
Yeah--that is almost the 300 guys going to the street. The computer just scheduled me out of a job. They build a house of cards and then you are asked to waive when it falls apart. Just my 2 cents.

From the IPA B&G

<<<I really did expect more participation. Too bad they couldnt negotiate something better than an all or nothing MOU, but thats a done deal. FWIW I did sign up for what I indicated on the survey....... And right now I am going back to sign up for even more.

Come on folks, every little bit helps even if its one bid period of RDG or JS. At least sign up for what you said you would on the survey. With the new RDG options no one can have any excuse for not contributing in some way. Kind of sad, I expected more from our group.

This affects more that just 300 of us. Are you barely hanging onto that captain seat after 15 years with the company? Did you finally get a great quality of life from your seniority? Did you recently get the senoirity to hold a humane or commutable schedule? How many of you will be pushed into the ANC domicile unwillingly? How many of you will be pushed into a domicile that will force you to commute to work holding a line produced by the sodomizer? I've already lost my captain seat starting in June, and I may lose my nice cushy position as a senior FO. If you value your current quality of life or just dont want it to get any worse, you need to volunteer.

Just some things to consider, we will all be affected by this. Either we can choose what sacrifice we will each make, or UPS can choose it for us. Sounds like a no brainer to me. Go to the IPA website and volunteer!>>>

Amen bro! I signed up too. I feel guilty about not signing up for more so I may still do so but unless a boatload of people get their act together, this thing is gonna fail miserably and I don't even want to think about negotiations in a few years.

Either way this thing goes down, it will be a case study in modern corporate/union relations. Unions are struggling these days, and we have a chance to make a statement and help determine our own futures.

Personally I haven't yet signed up as I am on the road but will sign up for military leave when I get back to my military unit early next week. I think we will come through; it seems this group always comes through at the end (remember 808 by 8/08???). There are some in our union who just don't get it, don't care, or feel it's a personal thing against UPS to not do anything. The best thing we can do is encourage the guys/girls you fly with to sign up for something.
