As much as I WANT IT TO PASS. I think it will not. way too much more $$$ needed. For those, like me who are giving up some thing for this cause, we can not carry the entire group. I want to say and hear that I am wrong. Wrong about the MOU not passing.
To me we have 7 days left.
GOD let me be wrong.
To me we have 7 days left.

I just don't get this way of thinking. What other pilot group has gotten even as far as this MOU? The contract is still in one piece with senior members volunteering to give up pay to help somebody else. It may not pass but a realistic view of what has happened at other airlines should clearly show a great effort by the IPA membership.
Also remember that UPS is the deciding factor in if they "allow" furloughs not the union.

I highlighted a common misperception. Not pointing at you Airbum, just a convenient place to jump in ...
This is NOT a traditional concession where people actually give up PAY as you suggested. I've been there and done that. We shouldn't see it as GIVING UP PAY. That's when your hourly rate drops form $150 to $95 and you lose work rules and now spend MORE TIME on the job for LESS MONEY. Just ask any of the pax airlines.
This MOU allows various options to WORK less credit hours for the SAME PAY RATE. That's a big difference to me and anyone who has been through the real concession sacrafices ! Some of the options like Job Share, even give you a part-time job for full-time benefits.
If you meant the senior ones taking early retirement, its still not exactly correct. As the older guy I recently flew with explained it ... he may "lose" 4 years of income by retiring at 55, but that is 4 years of his life he just got back ! Ain't NOTHING for free ... and he would have to work to 59 to receive the same retirement benefit since this MOU eliminates the early penalty. He explained to me well and is still considering an early out at 55 !
I hope this deal does work. If the IPA membership can't get together to help itself, I hate to see the next round of negotiations.
This isn't just about saving 300 jobs. Its about preserving the current seniority "life style" for over 1000 of us ...
And its about showing ATL that the chiefs in SDF don't know exactly what this membership is made of ... or do they ?

I respectfully disagree. Hourly rates, work rules, and benefits remain unchanged. Working the same hours for less compensation is a concession. Our W-2 may be smaller, but we'll working fewer credit hours.

The memo from the IPA EB on 21 May was obviously very disturbing.
I have always been a last-minute bidder kind of guy, for no other reason than pure procrastination. I've approached the MOU in the same irresponsible fashion.
I have always intended to contribute heavily to it, but haven't even looked at it yet. I will definitely make a large firm commitment before the deadline.
I hope there are a lot more late-bidder types like me who are going step up to the plate now.

So when you voluntarily work less for less pay it is a concession? What about the F.M.L.A? Should we get rid of that. I guess it goes under the "non-traditional concession" heading.
If you do not want to participate, do not sign up.
Anyone using the term "concession" with this MOU either does not understand the meaning of the word or does not understand the MOU.

It sends a messege that I will work less hours for the same pay rate and benefits. Hmmmmmm, sounds good to me.
