Even if the legislation were to pass......eventually, .........while there may be less obstacles to organization, it doesn't automatically assume success. If a company treats it's employees fairly, there is no inherent need.
Most companies that have unions.......deserve them.
My philosophy is never get in another man's rice bowl. I didn't like it when non-pilots,......who knew squat about aviation,.........who never walked a day in my shoes, attempted to thwart the effort here at FedEx.
The bottom line: This whole nonsense about the "Brown Bailout" is nothing more than a charade to hide the real intent, ............KEEPING UNION"S OUT at any cost. Same old story here at FedEx.
If a company were to allocate the time, money and effort used to thwart a Union drive, instead toward addressing employee concerns..........there would be no drive. It typically comes down to a flaw in the corporate culture, propagated at the highest levels.
My take is that we have bigger fish to fry and should focus instead on supporting our fellow pilots and building a better, stronger Union here at home.

That is funny I am sure I have heard Fred say keep the Teamsters out of my "rice bowl".
As far as the "charade" I guess I would have to say no $hit $herlock. And the whole point of the RLA amendment "charade" is to enable the teamster to get 5 guys in San Diego together to blackmail Fedex Express. Something UPS would love to see. UPS and the teamsters have everyright to push their bought and paid for politicians to change the rules. What you guys don't seem to want is to let Fred have his chance to fight back.

Blackmail??? Really? Kind of like when YOUR union threatens to strike when they don't get what they want at the contract negotiating table? Or when MY union does the same?
And just how would you characterize Fred's threat to cancel the 777 order and hamstring Boeing if he doesn't get his way? Sure sounds like blackmail to me.

Don't be such a nandy-pandy. If it weren't for blackmail, nothing would get done around here.

Who is stopping Fred from fighting back? I wish somebody would have stopped the advertising firm UPS hired for the whiteboard commercials with Subaru driving, PBS bumper sticker, vegan guy. All Fred has done in the public venue so far is to come up with bondo'd AMC Pacer driving, need to go to Supercuts, KFC eating guy.
Followed by a fedex guy saying yes it is fair.
Followed by a UPS guy saying you guys are a disgrace to the union movement. Which may or may not be true but has nothing to do with the question at hand.

Then why do you UPS guys keep starting threads complaining about Fred lobbying? Its not fair boo hoo hoo; he's slandering us whaaaaaa.

Followed by a dismayed truck driver saying that 4700 pilots don't have his "back".

As far as complaining, Fred's the headliner of that act. It's a battle of DC lobbying money pure and simple. For those of your guys so upset about it, if Fred's costs are the core concern, why not get ALPA off the property...then the company will make all kinds of bank.

I'm not really upset about it. I would have no problem, in fact I would encourage, the rest of the FDX Express workers to organize. Is it anti-union to want them to organize under the RLA? Every airline that has organized ground workers has done it. Why can't they?
And really, what's it to the UPS pilots anyway? What's in it for you? Do you think that you're going to gain something from this? Good grief!

If the threshold for the "right" (apparently judged only by some) to comment on things that one either has no "interest" in, or control of, they might as well shut this whole thing down. And for that matter using your "yardstick" you have little or no "right" to discuss it since you aren't an Express driver. See how silly it gets?
Good grief indeed.

About the only thing I have any control over, or have anything to gain from is what kind, and how much hot sauce I put on my catering and where happy hour is on the road. And even then, somebody always ends up on insisting on going to Wan Chai, and then any illusions of control evaporate completely.
