Default I need some encouragement :(

Everyone at UPS is doom and gloom about the contract which is making me think crazy thoughts. I feel like FOs aren't even going to get a $1 an hour raise. Please just tell me I am overreacting and that I will get a raise and one day not have to work 2 jobs.

Thanks,
Doom and gloom

Doom and Gloom,

O.K., I'll tell you, you're overreacting.

Hopefully, UPS won't mess with the labor too much and give you at least a minimum raise. I'm not involved so I don't know (nor want to know) the specifics.

I'll leave you with two quotes- I use both, althogh to be fair, I don't use them consistently enough.

"Control what you can control; and let the rest go."

"People create their own stress."

In any case, I hope you get what you need- at least, and hopefully more.

The FO pay slope will be fixed on the upcoming TA, but only by the end of the contract. The FOs will see the largest pay raise of the group (% wise), and with first year pay being in the mid 40K region.

The biggest reason not to dispair is the hiring that could occur between now and the next 5 years... even if Age 60 does goes up.

If the next five years is anything like the last five years, things are going to be pretty slow. It does beat massive furlough though.

The hiring boom will be in China and India. You'll know there's really a pilot shortage in the US when pft no longer exists.

In appleton the company pay proposals offered an average 21% pay raise.

As a 6 yr. fo my pay would go from 101 to 125,

Keep you chin up, it will work out

I, too, am a 6 year F/O. $125 is not enough of a raise considering the money the company makes and the amount we contribute to the aforementioned profits.

Using this website, I figured for 2nd year FO to equal 2nd year FO widebody pay at FedEx it should be roughly 105/hour. This is based on credit differences. So if you consider that is FedEx's old contract, I don't think 120/hour is to much of a dream. You get a vote, if it's not what you like, vote no.
