When these bozo's pick up the >8 in 24 pairings they ought to be restricted to only flying those until their eyes start bleeding.....Hey! Got an idea.

Have a Disputed pairing bid. They do it for SIBA.

Disputed pairings only for the next 3 months.

That's a great idea!!

And, if you added 6 hrs of carryover...imagine how senior it would go. We could kill 2 birds with one stone, if you know what I mean.

What about the CIC peeps that picked up trips prior to ALPA releasing the DP message?

Then they should drop it when they can.

Are you telling me they are that hard to figure out without guidance from ALPA? The same pairing available every week and not on any lines?

I just don't get it, how stupid are these guys? The company is having you break 8 in 24 and then "giving" you the required rest of 2 x block ON YOUR OFF TIME...unpaid, duh. Pure arrogance on the company's part, and guys are picking them up like lap dogs salivating for a treat. I didn't realize you could be this dumb and still have the capacity to fly an airplane.

Of course the real problem is if we don't collectively put some pressure on these meatheads in 2 more months we will all be forced to fly them.

Hey Matty, I checked the date the SIG E-mail with the disputed PR's came out and it was the day before the view/add window closed. So, there is no excuse. Guys pick them up because they are one ways and could care less about anybody but themselves. These months DP's really suck! I'm stunned that people would voluntarily do these trips, but then again, I'm really not surprised at level of greed with this group. The only thing I can say is that they make managements job easy. Pathetic!!!!

The shame is that if these trips went to a reserve guy, they would be be burned for 3 days...meaning reserve utilization would go up. For the reserve guy...he flys a day trip, but then gets a free day at home. Seems obvious to me....

I'm not sure if all the crews that picked those trips up are commuters, but some are. If they've hooked those trips to another pairing, the possibility of an 8/24 violation may still exist. An FAA violation, certificate action and a fine might be what it takes to get some attention here, and you can be assured with the attention crew rest/fatigue are getting, they'll be looking.

What I don't get is, why don't they care? The earlier comments about getting a better contract, or, more specific wording baffle me. Folks, the SIG/PSIT disputed these things! The Company agreed they were bad and allowed the dispute! I shouldn't need better wording to understand these pairings SUCK, and they need to be avoided. DON'T FLY 'EM!!!

You know, this next negotiations is going to be very contentious. If we can't hold the line on something as simple as a disputed pairing, what the heck are we going to do when the 23:59 moment comes, and the tough decisions have to be made!

Tell me how you can hook into one of those things. They are already greater than 8 hrs of block in 24.

To exceed 8 in 24, you just need an intervening rest period of double the 1st duty period's flight time.

Trip 406/14JUL has a 11:33 rest period in SEA. Flight time MEM-SEA is 4:32. Take 1/2 of the rest period, 11:33, to determine how much you could fly in the first duty period. That is 5:46. So, if you could find a trip that blocked 1:14 into MEM, you could hub-turn from it, into trip 406. (1:14 + 4:32 = 5:46)

Of course, that's all fine and dandy on paper. As soon as you arrive late from MEM or depart early from SEA...You're violating FARs. There are certainly other snafus that could get 'em as well.
