Default Food for thought.

Something to file away for bidding while in training. Everyone pretty much knows to bid highest paying while in training. But, remember, carry-over doesn't count, only BLG. So, just selecting "Highest paying without carryover" doesn't really work, neither does "Highest paying with carryover". You kind of have to look at the BLG for each line.

Also, on the last month you are bidding while in training, they have to match the number of days off in the line you bid. Last time I was in training, upgrade to Capt, I was bidding as a very senior FO, but would fly the whole month as Capt. I bid some BQN hard time trips and had 25 days off out of a 35 day month. When scheduling built my custom line, they could only give me 10 days of trips. VERY sweet, especially after spending what felt like an eternity in the school house.

My suggestion? Read the contract very carefully anytime you do something different from the normal. You might be surprised by what's in there.

I always read everything. And very carefully. I never trust what anyone else tells me, either. But that's just me. Doesn't mean that just because I don't like everything, I won't vote for it. You have to consider what the other options are as well as "whole". And, IMHO, you have to read it and try to understand it, yourself.
