CONTRACT RATIFIED
STRIKE AGAINST AMERIJET IS OVER!!!
We congratulate the pilots and flight engineers for their long fight for a fair and equitable collective bargaining agreement with their employer, Amerijet International.
After five years of negotiations, mediation and a strike, the crewmembers overwhelmingly voted to accept the collective bargaining agreement that was negotiated on their behalf in a two day ratification session.
This ratified collective bargaining agreement addresses all of the issues that forced this group to strike.
We must point out that the crewmembers’ tenacity and conviction to stay the course until the company negotiated a contract that would give them a standard of working conditions, benefits, a grievance procedure, wages, along with safe and sanitary conditions is something that should be applauded. This small group has made a history in the airline industry.
We would, at this time, like to thank all the other unions, both airline and others, along with those former Amerijet employees who stuck by the strikers and lent their support. We all know that all their support helped the strikers stay strong and united. This is a great day in the labor movement.

Congratulations AmeriJet folks! I know I speak for many of us when I say we are very proud of you! You had the balls to stand up for something you believed in, and you got what you wanted and deserved. I hope this new contract IS what you wanted, and is full of many improvements that will make your lives better.
I was actually planning on coming down this week (I actually have more than 1 day off believe it or not) but I guess I don't have to. I hope I get the chance to meet some of you all one day.
Very good job, congratulations again, and best wishes to you all in the future!
