Amerijet STRIKE!
If Teamsters and management do not reach an agreement on August 27, 09 Amerijet pilots and flight engineers will go on strike. Best of luck to those guys because they are dealing with some of the worst crooks this industry has to offer. I guess they've had enough abuse, ajt crews work under the worst conditions imaginable. Low (ridiculous low pay), long days, min days off, no toilets, not even drinking water and poor treatment are a few of the things they deal with day in and day out. I please ask of all fellow professional pilots to support our brothers at ajt. Amerijet not only threatens the well being of its crews but the entire industry, as they are very close to starting B767 operations and expansion into new markets worldwide, all this believe it or not under the same conditions as the B727 same pay ohhh yeah not counting the 10% pay cut they recently imposed and all the other crap. So again please support our fellow aviators in any way possible and lets all remember the names of those scabs that will cross the line! Remember!!! Once a scab always a scab don't let those same idiots screw you like they've done for the rest of the good honest professional Amerijet pilots!

As a furloughed airline pilot that has had to deal with poor QOL conditions and poor pay, all of the Amerijet pilots and engineers have my unwavering support. I support them in not only getting a better QOL but getting the pay that they deserve with the hope that the better pay an QOL will trickle down to all of the other airlines as well. Good luck, and hopefully SOON, Good Flying!

At just before midnight this evening, the Company walked out of negotiations, having refused to budge on its proposal. As a result, the cooling-off deadline expired at 12:01 a.m. this morning. This means that both parties are now free to engage in self help, such that the Union can engage in strike activity at any time it chooses.

Godspeed gentleman. As mentioned earlier, please keep us posted on contribution opportunities. It would also be wise for the Teamsters to contact APLA, IPA, etc. regarding struck freight. Having been a Teamster before I can attest that they need a little direction when it comes to airline ops.
Once again, good luck, hold fast.
