The IBT used whatever means at their disposal. The IPA, APA and ALPA were notified, particularly when they informed the unions at Capitol, Centurion, Atlas, etc. The IBT also had agreements with several trucking companies (AJT relies heavily on trucking) the longshoremen, and even the cleaners at Cargo City. AJT for its part, couldn't even figure out who was on their side, calling pilots that were striking outside their offices for flying duty. The Three Stooges who led AJT down this path always felt it was just a few outside agitators. Too bad they gave Fisher Phillips all sorts of money to keep out the IBT. They are going to need it now. We also know all names of every line pilot who boarded airplanes. I considered these people friends at one time. Sad. No mercy for them, they need to watch their backs for the rest of their miserable careers. You know who I am, you rats.

So there are 57 Pilot Types there and 11 or 20% have crossed the line already in one day? I hate this industry! We are our own worst enemy!

Post the names and only the names, nothing wrong with that...they deserve it.

When the names come out the probability is that you will have repeaters. Some of these guys can't resist. 20% is a number that I have heard is fairly common in a strike, they will run through these guys fast and will encounter FAR restrictions. The union should be tracking them for flight and duty time violations, and other pilots should watch for non standard and hazardous operations that may occur due to pressure from management.

Struck work is struck work. A Scab is a Scab management or not.

Yeah I know the facts of life, but the scab pilots are the stooges of management, and management pilots are the stooges of corprorate. There names should be put out there too... as they will be seeking employment elsewhere someday soon.

Default I am not so sure about that

Sometimes a management pilot is not protected by the union. If he/she does not fly they get fired and the union can do nothing to protect them. This is why at the big Untidy they now have union or "line" pilots as instructors and check airman. Before the strike of 85 the training center was manned by non-union non "line" pilots. After the strike ALPA made sure that this would not happen again. Crossing a line is one thing, keeping from being fired in this environment is another.

Just my .02

PS to Captjns I miss the wine tower and mole hill green

please keep the updates coming. There are a lot of people on this board who have never lived through a strike and may find themselves in such a circumstance in the next few years. Communication is paramount. Let everyone know how these things work. When their time comes, the knowledge will help minimize the fear of action that comes from uncertainty.

Let us know how we can help Amerijet pilots. Funds, support, jumpseat access... the more options for help you give us, the larger the support base will be. Every strike gives the industry as a whole a chance to come together and restore the brotherhood that once made our profession great. Lets all put aside the animosity and work towards helping each other, no matter where we work.

Way to go, Amerijet pilots.

Very well said. This is my first witness to a strike and I am very much interested in learning from this.
