202 Retirements by 2012 at UPS
#1
There's a really interesting thread on the B&G from Roberto about the number of UPS retirements.
According to him (correct me if I'm wrong Bob):
Retirements from the most recent seniority list compared to the Aug 08 list: 77
Age 65 in remainder of 2009: 6
Age 65 in 2010: 26
Age 65 in 2011: 45
Age 65 in 2012: 48
We retired three fleet types of three-man airplanes in the last two years, and our last new hire class here at UPS was November of 2007 (almost two years ago.)

Ha! I say let's get rid of the A plan. It won't be around by the time we retire anyway so why take care of the old farts. They'll have enough money with the windfall they just got. It's obvious they don't give a crap about us these days so why should we care about them....LMAO!
(now before some of you get your panties in a bunch and start posting things like "those old farts made ups a better place to work for you" yada yada yada......I AM JOKING!)

Amen Shaggy! Isn't it nice we did get the FO rates fixed at least? Can you imagine this cluster PLUS the old "screw the FO's" rates?

Is Favre returning again?? Fantastic! <g>
Don't get your panties in a bunch.... I'm joking.
Doesn't that child need a haircut?

It is a bit more gloomy than you think.
A lot of the "retirements" that Roberto posted for this year do not really effect the average line guy.... Most of them were PFE's.... Also a number of the guys on this years list that Roberto posted were guys that were either fired or died. Kind of tasteless.
