Are you sure of that? When we (Atlas) were looking over the Boeing LCF deal, one of the major stumbling blocks for Atlas was that Boeing wanted dedicated crews. No flying of our other -400's was going to be allowed.

Afghanistan is lovely this time of year. and your going to be going ther. weather your with the airlines or the helicopter's. ther may be direct hiring into the 400's later in the year. the bidding is going real junior as the upper f/o's are awaiting upgrades. but with no expansion and the geezers hanging on the bids may change. who knows?

[quote=spitfire1500;740620]Ill tell you why. Someone posted the recruiters number on a webboard and his phone has been ringing all hours at home and work.quote]
Thats not how I got incontact with the recruiter. I simply called HQ and asked to be conected with the pilot recruiter, easy as that.

Based on the latest standing bid (1st Qtr. 2010, issued in Dec. 2009) the junior guy on the line (also the most junior guy with a LCF bid) will go to LCF training in July 2010. There's been hiring since then (4 in December, 4 in January I think, and likely 4 more will start in February as well), but nobody knows what their bids are yet. We were told that approximately 34 guys would potentially be hired this year, but we're told a lot of things that don't come true.
Like most airlines, until you:
- see it painted on the ramp
- you're sitting in it
Let's hope the hiring continues, not just here, but at other companies too.

Latest rumor I heard, from a reliable source, is that the hiring is for B747-400F and B747-400BCF expansion. Eventually new hires will go directly into the -400.
One more B747-400LCF will be here next month with three B747-400BCF to be delivered before 2011. There are plenty of B747-400F and B747-400BCF's parked in the desert. There is speculation that more B747-400's will show up and if so you can expect more hiring.
Like everyone says, believe the rumors when you are walking out to fly it.

Anyway, good news. Also, I hear Atlas is recalling.
