Basically you are telling your fellow pilot I don't care about you. This habit that I have is more important then you. And you must suffer through it. And look at that crap in their teeth when they talk and see it spit on the cockpit/radio controls
Do your co-worker a favor and do not chew. If you can't refrain from doing this until you get to the hotel then you should not be flying.
Well, any tobacco habit is bad, but where does it stop. I flew from Anchorage with a Captain that couldn't stand the smell of tuna. Now was I telling him I didn't care about his sensitivities when I ate my tuna sandwich and I'm sure my breath had the aroma of Tuna?
Tobacco is self correcting over time. If you are senior to me I don't care if you smoke, chew, or any other thing (in the plane) that will hasten your movement off the seniority list, and I'll buy you booze, cigars, and girls on the layovers. If you are junior to me you should be buying me the same stuff.
The circle of life at an airline is a beautiful thing!

I agree we are. We are pilots, it is in our nature. But you know what really irritates me besides the trash, is when guys unhook the headset and stash it somewhere to use their own set and then don't replace it! And why do we have piles of LIDO bags in the cockpit with an electronic flight bag? And why do we put MEM approach plates in plastic when the MD-11's spend more time in ANC? OK, I think I have gotten it all off my chest now.

Purple Promised?
I found a dead rat behind the rudder pedals in a Kalitta 727 once.

True and tobacco is sold in stores and some guys can't live without it. I was addressing the sensitivity comments. You never know what offends some people. And, the offender usually could care less what you think. Tuna is a menu option, but one sandwhich comes in every thing you order out of Anchorage weather you want it or not.

Same as the guys that leave sunglasses, real glasses, books, hats, keys, etc in the jet - just check out the Lost and Found box in the AOC.
