The 727 is the surge buffer for any event that might cause the company to react spontaneously. Be that Global economic recovery, massive retirements or faster replacement 757s or 777s. Trends I am looking for will be a rise of BLGs which we might be seeing now but could be obscured by peak traffic, an exit from 4A2B or a return to high BLGs along with Draft and Volunteer on a regular basis.

All the company would need to do is post an excess from the 727 which will maintain manning in a critically growing fleet and then they can regulate the rate at which they park the 727 as needed. With the Age 65 issue coming to a head on 2013 and the forecast to park the 727s by 2015, it seems these issues might merge into one over the next 5 or so years.

As the surge protection wanes, expect hiring. I wouldn't hold my breath for anything too soon however.

Another indicator I hadn't thought of is the re-opening of the pilot app website. Think that's been closed for years now.

Does anyone know when they re opened it?

It looks like a new website https://www.pilotcredentials.com/

As a token of my appreciation, I'll buy the beers for the first six months of my employment!

It's not re-open. They're still not accepting new profiles.

..... and if you're a newhire and you end up on a trip with me and most of my peers your first year, your money will not work for adult beverages Whale.

I think I can speak for the vast majority of the guys at purple who would love nothing more than to see more retirements, more growth, new domiciles, and lots of hiring right now.

It's just not that time........ yet.
