It would seem that if O really had the supporting material to justify hiring one person over another, that he could do so even if he failed to follow some silly corporate procedure.

Didn't O put LK into his current position? I think it's odd that O might now do something that would hurt his little buddy.

LK has made his bed, so to speak, with management and against pilots. He proved that in the Air Force Reserve and he's proving it here as well. The difference is that the Air Force Reserve discovered his travel voucher fraud and got rid of him. Here, the company seems to tolerate any behavior as long as somewhere along the line it results in angst for the pilot force. Credibility with the pilots is unimportant or at least, way down the list of desired qualities.

LK wasn't in the Reserves. Are you certain the rest of your allegations are true?

PC put him into the position by telling the then RCP in Mem GD to hire him for the ACP job. He had to wait 13 days to start his mgmt job because he was in a grievance against the company. Then he gets fired by SJ and PC tells O to find a spot for him. So O puts him in his current position. He wore out his welcome when he started doing things behind O's back, i.e. the amnesty program. So O found a way to geat rid of him by not hiring him and moving his current position to ANC. Then LK went to HR and got it all shut off. Meantime, the guy who was selected for the job still has no idea what his future holds. Nice job O.....

Not to come to O's defense here, but it sounds like he tried to do the right thing. It seems like the authority of the "Chief Pilot" is not what it once was.

What is ? Is it needed?

I vote no.

Which is why the ANC base now has an ACP that nobody will talk to without representation present. Brilliant.
