FCIF DRUG and ALCOHOL TESTING @ RAMPS
This is absurd ...................... you are given ONE HOUR for Show at the ramp and then might have to submit to this testing at the ramp BEFORE you can perform any required crew duties ................. What are the ramifications of not getting this done in a "timely manner" ? Removed from Trip ? Delay the Trip ? What is the follow up to something like this if the trip is delayed and are we going to get further interrogations ? What say YOU !!!

I think this is no big deal at all. You report on-time, get tagged for testing, trip suffers a slight delay attributed to something other than crew, ramp, or maintenance and you go anyway. It's beyond your control so not your fault, no big deal.

stand back and watch the wind machine get hit! bet the next test before a flight won't be so random. An amazing shift from pre-test to post-test.. after the flight, can't go for 2 hours... our problem not theirs.

Can't wait for the fallout when a guy can't "donate" for an hour and a half or so.. Say, he just went before he left the hotel, drinks water like a mad man, but just can't go... miss the sort with a wide body jet worth of revenue..
stand back and watch the wind machine get hit! bet the next test before a flight won't be so random. An amazing shift from pre-test to post-test.. after the flight, can't go for 2 hours... our problem not theirs.

Actually this is not the Company sticking it to you. It is the Company complying with Federal Regulations.
Aware it's not the company, but my point remains... I'll bet there are more post tests than pretests after one major late event. Compliance in a more convenient manner.

What I find really amazing is suddenly all of the "chain of custody" problems that heretofore prevented any D&A testing outside of major hubs is now trustworthy. I'm wondering if ALA, CDG, PEN, PUD, SZX........not to mention Flint, ELP, TUS, MIA etc protocols are........."monitored"?

Although I am just as p-o'd at the company right now with the implementation of 4A2B as the next guy, I think in this case the company is actually going out on a limb to protect the crews and the movement of the freight.
Go back and read the last paragraph of the FCIF very slowly. Read between the lines and you may discern a very subtle but important potential difference in the testing protocol.
I won't spell it out, but take a close look at it and see what you think. I think the company is trying to look out for all our interests in this case.

JAGPLT, you are apparently on the same page with me about this.
I am so glad to know that our other brethren here are able to "****" on command. Clearly this is requirement from DOT as the FCIF points out.
