UPS - MOU Marketing
I've been out on leave of absence from MOU 1 so I dont get to hear/see whats going on around campus at SDF. I get the IPA emails and look at this forum a few times a month and thats how I hear about MOU2. My question is has the IPA put out anything other than emails? Are there info signs posted in ops, flyers in v-files explaining the MOU, phone calls or anything else? I'm not sure my suggestions are even legal but my point is I wonder how many guys outside the bottom 300 arent paying a whole lot of attention. Not because they are selfish or dont care but simply because they dont feel any threat and as a result the MOU isnt really on their radar. I get an IPA email everyday so I can completely see how some people may not even pay much attention to them. In addition, we all have lives outside of UPS and even more so at this time of the year so I wonder if we have done a good job of getting the MOU and failure implications to the masses...

Nothing of the kind is allowed on UPS property ...

DOOM AND GLOOM! Between the AM video, the IPA, and the company...the pressure on individuals is overwhelming! Most of the bottom 296 can't give anymore. Individual either commuting or attempting to support their families in AK can't give anymore.

I hope none of you guys are considering giving anything else...the burden is on those who didn't give the first round, primarily retirements. IMO all we have to do is get close...UPS will take the money and walk to the bank.

It would be nice if those that did not contribute at least attempted to this time around. However most of the captains I talk to say they can't afford to contribute. We all know that is not true and they just don't want to contribute. There are ways of participating in the MOU and not be out any money. There are ways to participate that you are out about an hour and a half per pay check. To say you can't afford to participate is disingenuous, at least be honest and say you don't want to participate and I can respect that. Also we have a bunch of pilots that did not participate and are not participating in the MOU that are still picking up open time, it is their contractual right to do so. If the MOU didn't exist there would be an open time ban. Any of the opentime that you have already picked up is on the backs of the pilots that did participate. If you didn't participate in round one and you are still picking up opentime do the right thing and participate in round 2. We are very close to making the whole furlough thing go away. And I still think the entire IPA will be better off if we stop the furlough.
