Well that's you. I personally would want RDG to be in every contract. I like the option of staying at home more with my son. I don't have the luxury of being able to sit reserve at home in SDF. My fiance is based in ORD and his parents watch the little guy on schedule overlaps and they live 5 minutes from us so I'm kind of stuck in IL.Originally Posted by L'il J.Seinfeld
I still think you are nuts for doing all of that--especially giving your sick leave. I can't do this job for half pay and it really undermines us in the next round of negotiations when UPS knows that plenty of us are willing to work for less money. I know blah, blah, blah it's not half pay it's half pay for half work. I get tons of time off already and don't need or want more.I think the MOU is a bad idea, but that ship sailed months ago. UPS can think what they want but just because we were willing to volunteer to save jobs this time around doesn't mean we will fold for contract negotiations. They wanted to open up the contract and we said no. Apples and oranges IMO.
Why do you think the MOU was a bad idea? What would have been your solution? If UPS furloughed, your pretty life in SDF would be over. We'd be freezing our wing dings off in ANC....of course since your wife stays home, you'd probably move up there and get to continue your wonderful life of reserve up there. All of us don't have that option. I am for the MOU and it just floors me how little regard people have for 300 guys/gals on the chopping block. People just can't seem to put themselves in other's shoes these days.
