no extra at Fed Ex!

What is up with the training guys? I have seen at least 10 captains flying draft as FO's in the last 10 days. It is not enough for them to fly draft in the sim and as a captain but now they have to fly the FO seat as well. Will we ever learn?

In an odd kind of way, this is a good sign.

FedEx sim instructors

Hey, give the sim guys and gals a break. If you made as much as they did (many have the largest pilot W2's and don't pay union dues I might ad), you might feel an obligation to go the extra mile for the company also.

Before I get blasted, my apologies and thanks in advance to the school house folks that pay their fair share.

A pretty broad brush you're wielding. A quick check on the union website shows 28 non-members out of several hundred in block 11. Not much difference from blocks 1-4. Only in block 5 and junior do the non-member percentages go down.

I do agree that our highest paid pilots, who throw off that hypothetical "average salary," are in the Instructor block.

Which plane are you talking about?

The md11 is the only plane I have been tracking

Dig deeper and actually compute the percentages! I think its a pretty accurate brushing! Bottom line is, the INST block (huge mistake creating a special interest voting block, if you ask me!) could have gotten this whole contract wrapped up months ago, if they really wanted to.

While in training a couple months ago, I overheard one instructor talking about the TA'd training section to another instructor, "I guess we haven't really been helping the cause, have we?"

How are they not paying dues???

He was refering to the nonmembers in that group.

It's the little things the don't seem to get. On my PC the instructors were discussing how many "extra" seat fills they were getting to do. Every time they fill a hole on a day off for "extra", it hurts the cause.
