Captain-Drew....your monniker truly reflects the self righteous jerk you were while you were on the property and the sad sack loser you are afterwards..get a life for crying out loud...btw, how many Gs did you pull flying C9s?

Capt Drew

eatme...

Capt Drew is a navy pilot...and he has let you know that...you don't ask people if they have wings of gold...if they are a navy pilot, they will tell you...if they're not, you don't want to embarass them....

With all of your total posts (1???) I would hardly say you're qualified to pass judgement on anyone, unless you have come in here under a new moniker (one n you know) due to your old name being banned...so lighten up Francis and get a life...Drew is enjoying his just fine...

89 more posts and I'll be super qualified like yourself ..all knowing one, 1 posts or a thousand it makes no difference; since you fly 757s you probably didnt know the Capt unless that is you also had wings of gold ..yawn... btw I remember the capt didnt quite retire as a capt unless of course your talking about military service..

Someone correct me, but I think the 1st guy was right. They don't 'have' to pay dues .. . according to my sometimes imperfect memory.

FPA got the 1st deal Drew..............and non of the negotiators (at the time) were instructors.

Everyone who wants to be a member pays dues.MGT or Not.
We don't have inactive members in MGT like most ALPA carriers.........You are either a Member or you are not...........MGT or Not, it doesn't matter.

If you don't want to pay dues............you effectively quit the Union.

We do have a few (very few) who choose not to become members.
A few chose not to because they did not want to pay Back dues from when they were not members of FPA.

A few because they owe ALPA $$ from a previous job.

A few because they just hate ALPA........

I don't understand why they simply don't join.....but at least they are paying
dues ( or maintneance Fee as some choose to call it) through monthly payroll deduction. At least they aren't freeloading like 150 others cheap-skates

That isn't surprising.....most of those guys spend their entire careers in the school house..........when they change A/C they simply change schoolhouses meaning they go from Flex on the 727 to Fles on the 300 and then Flex on the 11............Just wait until the 380 comes on line. I could give you the names of the "New 380" Flex guys right now.

They get real good at flying to CLT, FLL ORD or ATL in the PM out/back.

Most the MD-11 instructors have never been to Subic or China...........let alone ASIA.

There are many good folks in the training DEPT but too many Homestead over there and forget what life is like on the line..........or prefer to bury their heads in the sand. Not all of them but certainly too many.

In defense of flex

One of my Captains last week was a flex and shocked sceduling when he PDO bumped for training. He was told "Don't you know we're drafting, why are you bumping a trip?". He said some of the guys are bringing it up to the flex ho's.So, the word is spreading over there. He even corrected me for making up a CIC drop at volunteer.

Didn't mean to single out Flex guys specifically. a few line guys are guilty too. Because of their (Flex and LCA's) dual qual.they can get called twice as much for those cherry draft trips.

The bulk of the Flex guys do Block their calenders though. There is really only one reason to block your calender. At least only one good reason.........Not

Why would anyone correct or have a problem with another for flying CIC drop at volunteer instead of flying the makeup at straight time? As long as the individual is not raising their BLG above a normal monthly BLG, I would rather the individual inflict a little more pain on the company by making up sub or CIC at 150% instead of 100%.

Making the Company pay 150% isn't inflicting pain......They can obviously afford to pay. Otherwise why would they Draft a Capt $309/draft rate for an FO seat...............That tells me they can easily afford to pay FO's $206 per hour in the next contract.....................

Nope DFT/VLT doesn't inflict any pain. It ain't about the money......................

When the freight stops moving b-cuz there ain't no one to fly it........well.....thats a different story! Get it?
