I bid about 40% in the right seat of the 727. I am about 35% in my seat and about 72% in the company.
Next month I will DH on delta to an East Coast city on Sun and operate from there to Ind on Mon, Tue, Wed and Thu night. I will spend about 4 hours on the ground in Ind and fly back to the same city. We leave the hotel about 8pm and get back about 6am. On Fri morning I will DH on Delta back home. Fedex usually covers 100% of my DH costs.
I will do this twice next month and get paid about 66 hours. This type of schedule probably represents 15% of the total FDX lines. I prefer this type of schedule to one that operates through MEM. To each his own.

Many of our 727 trips would be a cake walk if they were during daylight hours. Unfortunately we typically start around 8pm and finish around 6-7 am. The hours make even a two-leg duty period a drool.
Finish a week of that and flip flop back to normal hours = no fun.
But we have a job, not furloughing (yet), and we have retirement (for now).

Speaking of disputed pairings
Check out this 777 disputed pairing ... then check out the clowns giving each other check rides (see notes section) on EVERY leg of this disputed pairing. Can anybody say,
"An accident waiting to happen?"
