Congrats to Jim Tucker! I use to show a video about this story while teaching security in various airline groundschools. It's good to see a glimmer of hope come out of such a tragic story. Good luck to you Mr. Tucker, we're behind you 100%!

Jim Tucker is one of the finest men I have ever met. He was always professional, as well as funny, in the sim and on the line.
I am glad he is flying again, I know he loves aviation. It would be cool if his son could fly for FedEx. Fly Safely Jim.

I met Mr Tucker in 2006 at the International Council of Air Shows Convention in Las Vegas where he was the key note speaker during the opening day's activities. There I sat in a room full of aviation professionals, civilian and military air show performers listening to his first hand account of what happened that day. To listen to him relate flying that jet to his flying days in the Navy was awe inspiring and amazing. He truly is an inspiration and a courageous human being. I'm glad he's back in the air where he belongs.

The guys were indeed taken care of. However, for those of you who think it was because of the company's generosity, think again. The company wanted to give them what any pilot who goes sick/injured gets. Apparently, that's all they were entitled to get. ALPA fought for those guys. Yes, even non-member Dave Sanders. With ALPA's "persuasion" the company agreed to "take care" of the three guys. Ironically, Dave Sanders was later instrumental in removing ALPA from the property, in favor of FPA.
