No need to guess ... FDX ALPA has a rep on the ARC committee (I believe his name is Capt Bill S.). Write to him and ask, it's your dues money hard at work.

(BTW ... among the thoughts he's managed to protect us from ... "Cargo pilots need less crew rest because they don't have flight attendants.") (No joke)

Depends on what "duties" the flight attendants assume.

Sometimes that's true. Most often it is not.

If you are anything like your posts, I can certainly understand your "Most often it is not" comment......Just kidding Gunter, I just couldn't resist. It's a slow day here in Connecticut, what with temperatures in the 90's and humidity about the same. Makes me think that if I go out, I'll run into folks who talk Southern.

-Tiredness accounts for one-third of all workplace accidents.

-Approximately beyond 16 hours of wakefulness, you begin to experience impairments that look very much like someone with a .08 level of alcohol, which is the legal limit in many countries.

-One out of five interns in the health care industry reports having made a fatigue-related mistake that has injured a patient. One out of twenty interns reports having made a fatigue-related mistake that has resulted in the death of a patient.

I always hear that the FAA is researching sleep well watching the idiot-box I found this------http://channel.nationalgeographic.com/series/naked-science/4913/Overview#tab-facts

I'm no scientist or genius or high school grad (jk) but doesn't this show that errors are going to keep happening if the issues of sleep issues are not fixed.
