Average FDX Pilot Ages

...and that's the data I want ALPA to give me.
They have it ---- let's get it published!
...so we can all make fully informed decisions on when to retire and determine the "true expected value" of those future A fund payouts.

Not necessarily. DLax85 may be more concerned with the correlation (if any) between "age at retirement" and "life expectancy". There have been some studies involving non-pilots, but I have not seen convincing data either way on this.

Well,
jetjok is on his second life, so pretty sure he's feelin ahead of the game no matter how it comes out.
And, other pilots life expectancy won't really be an indicator of yours. Lifestyle and family history have a greater impact than we often realize.
Of course I'd life longer if I'd give up wine and song (you'd understand if you heard me singing).....but there's no way I'm giving up women.
And if I give up singing when I'm in my cups, well, what kind of a life is that. Not one I want to be living anyways.
So, maybe I'll wind up helping out the A Plan by not living to 90, but it's going to be one heck of a life

Kronan,
You're exactly correct, at least in my opinion, because some things are not worth giving up. Imagine how lousy life would be without a wife to nag the crap out of you, each and every minute of the day
, or living without being able to eat chocolate, or not being able to admire a pretty women, in a short, tight skirt, walking down the street. No, without those things and many more, life would truly not be worth living. And you're also correct about not being able to beat heredity. Regardless of your lifestyle, heredity plays a major, major factor in determining the disposition of your life. Luckily for me I had 4 fathers, so I should be good for two or three more "lives."
