I hate to dissapoint, but the jails and prisons are full of REALLY bad guys, and however morally repugnant he may seem to you, he's a relatively low-level threat to society. After trial, he may well be sent directly into a sexual offender, or "diversion" program and serve no additional time whatsoever.

Was he found with condoms in his pocket? I guess I missed that part.

Noone said his family should be thrown destitute into the streets. If his wife doesn't have any other skills than to raise kids and has depended solely on her husband to provide for her financially, well then I wouldsay she hasn't made a good decision. The biggest thing my mom taught me was not to depend on anyone financially except myself.
