It did for those under 40, but apparently there's a different company requirement. Off to the doctor I go!

I ran into the same issue. On the "qualifications" page it states...

"Meet requirements for and currently hold First Class Medical certification"

Which if you are <40 it is good for a year.

Only after you apply does it state that is must be within 6 months. You would think that they would update the qualifications page to include the 6 months.

JDriver, it's all good. I just have to go get a first class medical now.

For all those reading, get a new one. Good luck with the applications!

What is everyone's thought about after the first 6 months? For example, got a 1st class in July. It's legal until the end of January, so you say "Yes" to the question about having a "Current" (within 6 months) 1st class medical. Do you then, login on Feb 1, and then select "No?"

I too am a FedEx MD11/FO who is under 40. I get my Class I every 12 months not every 6 months. It sounds like they didn't catch the rule change when they re-opened the application site.

For the record FedEx doesn't require type holders under 40 to get a Class I every 6 months.

That being said, I think FedEx is a pretty good place to work so, I'd get a new Class I. I owned a ratty old suit, but bought a new dark blue one for my interview....

You plan on getting it this week, then you better fill out the app after you get the written complete.

They will check, trust.
People can and will do whatever they wish, but what you're saying is a bit misleading imo. Probably not so much today, but as the actual interviews spool up. Just like all the stories we're reading/giving about doing sim prep 10 times, buying Vito Corleone's suit and a pair of moonwalking shoes, there will be those who take the FE written multiple times in an attempt to bring the highest score possible with them to the interview. For years when almost every airline had FE's, this was pretty much commonplace. People would get the rating and then take it again when they got called for the interview to get a higher score. Sponsor and interview prep types often pushed candidates to do so. I'm sure that it will happen it again(it did in my interview group). There's nothing wrong with it, and depending on your initial score it may be a great idea, but the way some of us are acting about it makes it sound like someone will get penalized for doing so which is not true.
