Default FDX - ITU/IOE pay

Anybody had this situation? I had a pay only line BLG of 78 hours. IOE trips worth 83 hours. Crew pay said that I am only entitled to my pay only BLG plus any BKO for the over 8 hour legs (totals 81 hours). Seems to me like I should get the trip guarantee as well as the BKO (86 hours). Thoughts?

If the entire 83 hours were in the same bid month, I would say that you should get paid your pay only RLG plus the difference at 1.5. If the IOE trips were over more than one bid month I would say they were right.

I could be wrong either way, pay only while in training though can be a strange animal. I'm sure some wiser folks will chime in.

No soup for you. On IOE you are still in ITU status. You could have had 100 hours worth of trips and still only get your RLG. Best of all they can give you R days up to min days off if you were not in training status for enough days.

I'm surprised you get the overage. I did not think that happened, time to dive into the contract on the next flight over the pond. I tried to look at my pay summary for when I did ITU but it will only do most recent. I don't think I was paid for the overage.

Happened to me, 62 hour BLG for the month (4a2b) and had an IOE line with 97 hours. Was paid the override. Ya it sucked

Bummer! That just ain't right. I did confirm with futures that if your IOE is more than your pay only BLG, you will not owe any more days that month for your custom line.

Yes you are SOL and that should be a top priority to have changed in the next contract! I had a bud during 4a2b paid a 58 hour line and worked the equivalent of 115 hours during his last month of ITU with IOE in the MD11. Not right and we are being taken advantage of with this. Remember that during IOE you are generating revenue for the company in the next higher pay capacity when times are normal; essentially for free in this example.

Also remember that the original scheduled pilot is getting paid for the trip while sitting at home.

Remember when leaving ITU, bid your last pay-only line to get the most scheduled days off. They can't build a custom line with more work days than your awarded line.

You don't always get to stay home when bumped for training ... sometimes you get stuck as RFO
