I just saw the FEB schedule and we just got another route on the ATR side. Shreveport to AFW starting the last week of FEB. We are definitely hiring on the ATR side. This new run alone will require 3 additional pilots ( 2 PIC and 1 SIC) unless they don't see this route long term. I don't know about that but I doubt it. We also have some openings throughout the system, mainly for SIC positions. If anyone needs more info just ask.

How many hours a year can you expect to fly as a ATR FO? Am I correct to assume that you fly right seat ATR, left seat 208, left seat ATR? and if so how long is upgrade time?

they have in the past hired street captains into the ATR there is no need to go into the caravan just to get left seat ATR. When I worked there I think I flew about 250 hours in a year. It is not a time building airline, they will lock you into a 18month training contract every time you go to training. this does not included recurrent just initial and upgrade or transition to different airplane. I would use caution about working for empire the pay sucks, crews are good or at least there were 6 years ago!

good luck

I was hired the otherday, into an ATR FO slot. From what I've heard they plan on getting a few more ATRs this year. There is a posting on the website. Im not sure what the key to getting an interview is, as all I did was fill out an application and a few months later I got a call. I'm pretty excited, and glad I got a route that's at least an hour long oneway. I'm going to start studying 121 supp regs and anything I can find on the ATR. I only have 230 multi and I think you need 1000 multi and 500 crew to upgrade so it'll be some years before I can upgrade, although they do match your flight hours 2 for 1, I just don't know if that applies to the multi or crew requirement. I don't know what it's like in the field but the hiring process was great, and there was a great atmosphere when I was at the HQ in COE. Hopefully the company is like that as a whole.

I hear they may take the ATR to AK and that the SEA base may be a bit "fatter" on pilots than they want?? Any thoughts? Tx

Anyone have the latest in regard to Seattle? Are they going to be fat on pilots for a while?

In regards to SEA, ater October it will be a Caravan only operation. The ATR that goes up to SE Alaska is moving to ANC. There will be no ATR at SEA after this starts.
