UPS recalls?
#2
From whom?
Where?
Degrees of separation from those with any real info?
If the FedEx BOD has given the green light for 500 more pilots for retirement, new rest rules, and growth; if UPS doesn't reverse it's staffing situation it will become a second tier overnight express operation.
Considering that the overnight air division, and international express, generates more than 29% of the total PROFITS for big brown, deciding to wait may in fact kill the golden goose.
IMHO
Then again, I am a poolie too so I am hopeful that the ****ing match between flight ops, ATL, and the bean counters finally comes to an end and the company can once again focus on what's important - superior service and reliability for the customers.
But what do I know - I'm just a pilot.

From a current UPS pilot...
What I hear is that large "chunks" of sim time have been blocked off in Aug/Sep. That would theoretically get folks back before peak.
If recalls happen it will be interesting to see how many take it and how quick hiring may have to happen.

This has become a comical subject. Until the official recall letter hits my mailbox I won't be getting wrapped up in these rumors. Every month of the past 10 there have been rumors of the furlough being called off and recalls starting asap.

What makes you think they will recall to the 400? My guess is UPS will put guys where they need them without bidding. Our contracts furlough and recall language (along with our scope clause but that's another discussion) has gaping holes in it to put it mildly.
