"International logistics firm FedEx Express has unveiled its latest Boeing 777 Freighter, part of an order that could see the Memphis-based carrier operate as many as 55 of the type."
FedEx could take up to 55 777Fs

Sounds like someone has been hanging out with a Boeing marketing person.

Gcsass- pilots start rumors somttimes just to see how long it takes for the rumor to get back to them. i think that the company looks at evrything. they have analists up the rear, and they need something for them to do [biggest jobs program in Memphrica], and these people have probably considered putting the 777 in HK. It doesn't make sense in that theater, since we need the 777 to go back and forth from china with huge loads and 2/3's the gas of an md-11. eventually we will dispose of that toilet-fish md-11/md-10, and replace it with the far better boeing product! That pile of crap has killed people since 1973, it was a rush job by a marginal company, and it keeps recycling itself. bye bye MD, hello beer can!

I heard the same rumor. If you look at the 777 bid pack there is lots of intra-asia flying.. If one pilot goes down in field then there is no way to get replacement in less than three days. If you had crews in HKG then you could easily cover flights.

Correct! This also takes a lot of money from the US based pilots.
