I'd think it would depend on if you plan on moving to Memphis, because if you plan to commute to the PRO job, and then (assuming your reserve job is not near your home) work a reserve job, you might be biting off more than anyone could realistically chew. FedEx would not be very accommodating if you needed extra time off for your reserve job. As one of our past Chief Pilots once said, "we're not looking for part time help." Regardless, good luck with getting on. It's a really good place to work.

Of course you can do it. You will work hard, but in the long run, it should pay off. Personally, I would live in Memphis and commute to the Reserve job. Otherwise, you'll never be home.

I believe the maneuver pros started at 60k. Not sure now...but that's probably good gouge.
The jumpseat is frowned upon. You have access, but it's supposed to be for observation only. It's just frowned upon, not banned for commuting.
I do know that one pro was nearly fired for doing this and "abusing" it.

Also a consideration that these jobs no longer automatically meter to the line. Presumably most candidates would be interested in that line pilot position (which they'd have to interview again for) somewhere down the line... Sticking USERRA in the company's face in that situation might bite you in the rear. Not saying it's right or fair, just what it is.
