Air Cargo Carriers
Just wondering if anyone had previous experience with Air Cargo Carriers? I am just interested in what the company is like, upgrade times, shape of planes, and base locations for junior guys. Oh, and FO pay, too. Thanks for the info...

I talked to them a couple of years ago and it was pay for training then. There was a recent post here that said it isnt that way now, you might do a search here for this.
They are the "world's largest operator" of the Shorts 330 and 360 airplanes and have a quite informative website at:

Not PFT. They fly the shorts 360s primarily and have a couple Falcon 20s. Much of their flying is feeder stuff for UPS. They came into my FBO quite often and compared to many other 135 cargo ops I preferred to deal with them. Talking with the crews always seemed to give a good idea of the situation at a given operation. They seemed to like the job, and it sounds like the management was decent.

Planes are ok, the shorts is a sturdy bird but they show their age, the 330s are renowned beaters.
Base locations vary, look at the route guide on the website, roughly 15 scheduled runs or so mainly in the midwest and southeast. Really no bases are junior bases, it just varies on what is open at the time.
FO pay is roughly $24K a year.
If you dive in just be careful, management is not your friend.

Upgrade times are roughly 6 months to a year... when you get 1200TT you are game.

Air Cargo Carriers, Inc. is the largest civilian operator of Shorts aircraft in the world.
Now THAT is a SCARY thought ...
Reminds me of the joke my SD360 instructor used all of the time ... Flying a Shorts is like making out with a fat chick, it feels good while you are doing it, but it is not something you want to admit to your friends !

PS ... My apologies to any thought police that may be offended by the lack of political correctness displayed from that instructor.
