The junior FO in ONT right now was hired in April '07. We have about 2760 total, with 107 or so on furlough, so ONT does go pretty junior. Not sure how it will be when hiring resumes, but some new hires were able to get ONT as their first domicile.
In general, ONT has very senior and very junior FO's as well as Capt's. FWIW.
Junior schedules are NOT real pretty though...

Better re-check your numbers. I was hired before that, and I still can't hold ONT...or anywhere in the lower 48 for that matter. I was displaced to ANC almost 3 years ago, and am still stuck up there for the foreseeable future.

4/11 07 is the most junior FO in ONT. A new hire can expect ANC, and plan on being there a while.

Or the next new undesirable crew base. I wouldn't plan on any hiring until after we have a new contract, which may be years, that may resolve some of the scheduling gaps. UPS is doing a very good job of exploiting every gap in the current contract to increase productivity . They aren't even close to the maximum credit hours in a bid line.

I don't want to burst your bubble, but I suspect it will be a while before UPS hires. There are 107 on the street and the retirements are only about 40 per year. If UPS recalls like they hired in '07 you'll see guys placed where UPS wants them and then they will be displaced to the junior domicile. Unless that guy with the old lady avitar knows better, you'd be better off getting you 737 type and your FE written and stay away from UPS. Your best choice may be to go back to school and stay away from flying.

I understand completely what you guys are saying, however the April 07 Junior FO in ONT is accurate - he is the currently listed junior FO in the ONT bid pack. Some senior to that number may not be able to bid INTO ONT, but the fact remains that some were offered ONT as new hires.

I agree with the comments on the probability of getting ANC in the future, I was only giving the current numbers. Also agree that lifestyle absolutely sucks for junior folks at UPS, albeit with good pay. I would set my sights somewhere else as well if I were just starting out.

Very True.

UPS - Where being in the bottom 90% means you are junior in seat.
