On a scale of very possible to nearly impossible... how easy is it to get into ANC on the j/s these days? especially if you rely on Alaska Airlines?

Fedex does MEM-ANC, IND-ANC, OAK-ANC, EWR-ANC and SEA-ANC most days (less on Sun & Mon)
They also do PDX-ANC and ORD-ANC a little less frequently (I know ORD is Fri, Sat, Sun).
Bottom line, very possible.
You can get just about any day as long as the seats are available. From the loads I've seen on Alaska lately when I've had a ticket, you'd have a better chance on Fedex or UPS. Don't forget Polar and Atlas.

CE750, I have commuted to ANC from JAX for 12 years. As a mid level F/O is was cake. A few front end DH's and life was easy. As a VERY junior Captain It was very workable with 2-3 MD's coming to ANC from MEM daily, including an afternoon departure. With the 777 now taking 1-2 departures per day out of MEM it is problematic if you are fairly junior. Some 777 Capts are denying J/S on very specious grounds ("It's a new A/C and I don't want to mess it up") Book 3 weeks out, use Business, and always have a back-up (IND, EWR, etc.). I am now a very senior F/O (thanks excess bid). My commute is currently easy. Hope this helps.
Good luck.
Good luck.
