Default j/s catering?

I'm jumpseating from IND-ANC this week. Confirmed j/s on a 777 w/ Captain's permission.

Does anyone know why I can't submit a catering request. I get a red error message, "no catering reservation found". Never seen this. I've done this all the time with no problems on MD-11s from IND-ANC, but this is my first time on the 777.

J/S admin and catering weren't much help as they started questioning whether j/seaters get catering and said 5 days out was too early to request (which is wrong on both accounts). So, I gave up on them.

I just wondered if this is some kind of 777 issue or if anyone else has encountered this. Thanks.

I wonder if you could call the old catering phone number and leave your order there? Please let us know if that works?

I did the 777 out of HKG last week, and had no problem with ordering catering. I also had the Captains permission. Maybe, some how, the catering system knows when an Air France 777 is on the flight, which you are not able to JS on....just a thought.

check the date. I bet the indy flight departs after midnight Z. Try the next day in the date block for catering. TB

Go to Catering and at the bottom it gives you another option to list flight and date. Do this and it should pull it up and allow you to list your options. Good luck

Maybe they'll let you touch their groovy 777 lanyard.

The Z day versus the local day can effect the catering. Try the day prior and the day of.

That's what I'm doing. I've always had to do it that way for a j/s.

If I select the day before or after it says no j/s reservation found. I've got the day for the flight correct. It sees the j/s I have that day, it just doesn't see a "catering reservation" whatever that is.

I don't care that much. I'll probably sleep all the way up there anyway and I've expended more effort on this than it's worth. Thanks for the help. I was mainly curious about the source of this problem and if it might be a frequent issue from now on (if it was 777 related).

Say again? I wasn't aware we couldn't j/s on some of our 777s.
