#22
little bit of thread-jack,,
wanted to ask the brown boyz about layin over in sdf this weekend. Never been to louisville before. Usually like to go shoot my ffdo piece at a local range, anything close to the motel "brown",?? tanks in advance,, back to normal programming.

Anyone notice how much Open Time is available on the FO side across all domiciles? I believe it will be interesting how it gets filled. Of course there are a few out there "helping out".
I was hoping the recalls would start by June-August timeline, but as those dates rapidly approach, I see no indication of UPS blinking first!

You don't need a range in Louisville, just find some back road somewhere. As far as the crew hotel (Holiday Inn).....stay away from that place. The water is TERRIBLE!!

I'm not an SDF guy, but I think the Brown hotel is located downtown.

My only complaint at UPS is the furlough. Yes, I would categorize it as a great job. I've gotten some raw deals from scheduling, but I've had 10x more great breaks such as displacements. I'm way ahead in the end.
My requirements for it being a great job? Fantastic pay, excellent training, superb mx and airplanes, tons of time off, and a great safety culture. The company has responded to the Flt 6 tragedy in an admirable way. What else is there for them to do?
Don't be miserable at UPS. Life is way too short. Obviously perspectives determine your opinion. I'm just saying from my perspective as a junior FO, life is great in SDF. I'm near the bottom on my seat/fleet and I can't touch reserve, which tells me that those more senior are on to something.
If this isn't a "great" job I can only imagine what one must be like. (And no, I'm not mgt. Just stating my opinion and that of most of those with whom I fly.)
Ready for the arrows.

If you are talking about the Brown hotel, it's about 4 stars above our crew hotel, so we would not know what is around it to do. UPS would never allow us to stay in a hotel as nice as the Brown anywhere domestically.

Every few years it's the flavor of the week. Now it's FedEx. People are so shortsighted it's unbelievable. What will the flavor of the week be in 5 years?
