Jakal,

One minor correction. FedEx is not a major airline. It's a GLOBAL Airline...
Want to go back to Tulsa this winter?

Thanks for your reply.
I used your numbers for my scenario and came up with $17010. I applied 9% to year one pay, and 3% to year 2 and 3. He/she is getting $15800. If they were getting 55% of what they should you are saying that a third year NB FO should be getting $28700. Still not following your math. By the way, they are getting matching B-fund for that $15800 or whatever their retro is.

Talking still trying to deice my B@((s

130JDRVR

My mistake...Global..yeah Global Airline.

Those were simpler times weren't they?...Wait for de-ice truck, wait for de-ice truck to run out of fluid....wait for new deice-truck, start hold over times again. Wait for deice truck to blast plowed snow from under aircraft. Wait for tug to get enough traction to push. Get de-iced again.

I can't wait to bid it this winter!

Default Bonus vs. Retro Pay

Send me your email if you want the entire excel spread sheet showing Narrow/Wide Capt/FO lost wages (by years of service) since the amendable date as applied to the current TA pay rates and Bonus.

Just one example from the spreadsheet:

Using the 936 hour per year average and the TA rates. A 15 yr widebody Capt will make $538,756.92 from DOS plus 2.5 years. Under the current contract and same 936 hours per year, that same Capt made $482,601.60 for a difference of $56,155.32. His/Her TA bonus is $30,000 which equates to 53% of his Lost Salary if the amendable date and percentages were applied to May 2004 (i.e. Retro Pay). That may be the reason its called a Bonus and not Retro-Pay.

Pinseeker, hopefully that explains the math. The spreadsheet shows the entire spectrum and is yours for review.

I have learned volumes and glad you all support your position. Maybe someone else who voted NO will step in and explain also. I tried (right, wrong, or just plain AFU) I tried. So for now I will shut my Cake/Pie/A$$ hole, protect essential, focus on folgers, and continue smiling because I am a FedEx Freight Dawg with an A-Fund flying with an awesome bunch of pilots !!! (independant contractors and NM excluded)

Actually, the reason it cannot be called 'Retro-Pay' is due to one of those pesky "Law" things.

Pesky Law Link

I for one am glad that FedEx will not be known as the new Enron.

CB,

I used a junior guy with your assumptions because you said the junior guys were getting screwed. I did not point out that your assuptions are flawed. The 9% increase is at DOS, not the ammendable date. Retro-pay covers the difference between the pay at the ammendable date and the pay at the DOS. You can't go back the May04 and add 9% and then 3% a year after that for Retro. The best you can do is go back to May04 and add a straight 9% for the 29 months. If you do this with your MD11C then his retro would have been $42000. A better way to figure would be to figure a % increase per year to get us to the 9% on 30OCT06. Just trying to point out that it is not as bad as you think. You even said yourself that you saw improvements in the cornerstone areas. Pay, was not a cornerstone issue. As far as the jabs you have taken, I don't think it was for giving your opinion, it was the way you did it. Opening with YGTBSM and appearing to question the intelligence of your fellow pilots as well as telling them to grow brain cells doesn't come off as just expressing your opinion on the TA. JMHO>
