FDX - Training hotel recommendations...
The last couple of years when I have training in Memphis I have been staying at Fairfield Inn by Marriott over on 240 & Perkins. No complaints really...$59/ngt, free breakfast and flexible transportation to/from training building or AOC.
I have heard of guys staying at Fairfield Inn in MS., I believe the one is Southhaven, but I have also heard of shuttle issues either really early or really late in the day. Can anyone share or confirm any issue there as well as there room rates.
Does anyone have any other recommendation of affordable places that provide transportation.
Thanks for the info in advance.

The drive can take 30-40 minutes during rush hour, no problems during off peak times -- maybe 15 minutes. Otherwise nice, quiet, safe area.

Most of the time new hires will find a crash pad for a couple of months during training in the $200-300/mth price range. Cars can be bought cheap, or you can rent one or drive your own if you live close enough.

Are you going through 757 school? If so look for a crashpad towards Germantown or olive branch. Google maps hacks cross and winchester to see about where the training is. Some of us non crash padders old guys are staying at the Extended Stay America (poplar) for about 35 a night. It is 15 minutes to the any FDX sim. When you get here you will see flyers for crash pads in all the usual locations.

Thanks fellas, not sure what I will be flying. Not sure when I will start. Conditonal hire in early July told to expect early Oct class. Man, they keep you guessing don't they? Hard to plan when you don't know. Is indoc once a month at the beginning of the month?

Has anyone tried the Fairfield in Olive Branch (Hacks X) lately? Transpo OK for pickup after 11pm?
