Last summer I was moved back 2 months. I received a notification three weeks ago moving me forward 2 weeks. Now, I am back another 2 months. Makes it tough to plan anything. Why does FedEx do the huge bids rather than small bids every couple months? It would make it easier to adjust to the markets and demands rather than planning staffing 2 years out.

Agreed. They just want total control of us pilots. Every other airline that I have worked for has had smaller bids, from once a quarter to every month, no matter if it involved 2 or 50 people, upgrades, base transfers, or a/c changes.

We need to change that in our contract!!

This may not be the most important thing to change in the next contract, but it does need to change.

I don't know, it sure is up there for me. I've moved and changed multiple family events and changed my training 5 times and now it's all screwed up again. This needs to be changed. It's not the most important thing but it's up there.

Maybe our new SCP is planning to put a stop to the 2 year training letter, with quarterly changes, pilot harassment program.

Some MD11 CA's are sure good things are in store for us now.

Not a lot of this on the 757 letter, but this is to be expected and is a good reason for delaying of training dates.

New hires for the win! On the Airbus I see a new hire dropped in every so often into training, but no big group of them. Still, new hires padding the seniority list are a good thing!

And yes, I am a BIG believer in small bids every month - I had that in a previous life at an airline that just declared bankruptcy. They have twice the pilots and twice the domiciles and using 1960s computers they can still manage monthly bids. Amazing.
