YES!!!!

I'm glad they get some perks for doing a job the rest of us don't/won't take the time to do.

Not wanting to stir up more poop, but to set the record straight: It's hardly "perks", as much as I appreciate your support of the hard work the committee vols do.

In the instances I am familiar with, the "accused" actually would have held the holidays off but bid a different line to maximize availabilty and flexibility to their committees (you dont want bid a line which forces you to drop a 10 day trip when you're needed for 5 days in the office, for instance), and then dropped the holiday trips to regain the days off they'd have otherwise held.

NO "Super Seniority" and no dramatic public accusations needed. I saw this scenario replayed several times when I started poking around.

The vols almost universally get the short end of the days-off stick, and the public vilification they went through, the demoralizing accusations from those who knew better but chose to take a cheap shot for purely political reasons, is inexcusable.

CargoDawg, you owe me a beer!

I had to create an account and log on just to read your posts because two very well informed folks asked me if I was....YOU. LOL.

After reading your stuff, I know why. Your posts are full of detailed but little-known info and are writen in my style. You are even in the same seat as me. Hmmmm. I think you write better than I do though.

Anyway, good on you for flying the flag but you still owe me a beer ;-)

For those wondering: No, I am not CargoDawg. I respect everyone's right to privacy thru call signs etc, but I have been pumping my own stuff out via mass emails under my own name for a while now, and it's been a lot of fun.

In fact, I am told that someone who's being forwarded my series of email articles regarding the recent MEC drama posted those missives right here on APC, but they got pulled right away.

Is that because TC (one of the reps being recalled) is a Mod here, I wonder? Naaaaaaaaw, surely not.

Is TC's position here the reason Pete Harmon has been locked out of responding to the questions regarding his OWN post?

Will I be locked out too, now?

It wouldn't be the end of the world, but it seems that there's a Mod bias problem here, no?

Y'all take care, I will see you at the meeting!

Don Ray.

You need 10 (or is it 12) posts to send PMs.

Don Ray.
I agree Don, go look at any of the Majors Threads infighting(UCAL merger for example), full of personal mudslinging and the like, yet they are not relegated to a "log in" only view. many people, including myself like to lurk and just read and if you have to log in this severely limits those who will take the time to see these strings. In fact many read this stuff that do not take the time to get an account.

I do not know if TC is a mod or not but if you go back in time he does have a mod who always sung his praises....

FWIW, I believe this is veiled censorship just as you imply.

Don,

As far as I know, TC has nothing to do with APC. He is a moderator at *************, another site.

The folks running this site have always been very open and straightforward as far as I know.

I read your last committee resignation note, however, and am glad to see you here sharing your thoughts. Your efforts--and those of others like you--are very much appreciated.

I wondered why Vags would move this thread to a site that can only be seen by members. I guess she got played.

+3. Most have no idea how many long hours volunteers put in.
