Hmmmm..... so what happens if the Capt & FO on that flight DO get a license suspension??? Where would we go from there?

I'd guess, like most 121 airlines, the VP of Flight Ops can approve anyone to ride on the jump seat.

Rock Center with Brian Williams Very nice 12 minute piece. Use this link and click on the story. ( I THOUGHT I recognized the 2 dress wearers by the back of their heads!)

Well done, Mr. Smith!

Wow to have a CEO like that. I do feel for you guys the day that he leaves and some POS bean counter takes over.

It's in your contract that management pilots fly high profile and publicity flights. Just saying…….
I guess it keeps guys with black sneakers, yellowish shirts, and Dockers off the TV. |
Plus, after the checks, wouldnt the FAA have to sign off on Brian riding jumpseat in any event?
No FARs were broken. |
What a nice article. Really presented the company in a human way. As for when Fred Smith leaves, I for one believe that the company will do just fine, because of the corporate culture that he's instilled in it over the years. That said, hopefully after he retires, they won't bring in someone from the outside to run the place, but will instead, promote someone who knows both the people and the business.

Very nice piece. Kudos to you guys!

It was a good piece on TV last night...I forwarded the link to my family and friends that wonder when I'll ever become a "commercial" pilot. My usual answer, "I can't afford the pay cut"...and of course, they look at me incredulously.
I also sent it so they can understand (in an easy to understand video) what it is we freight dogs do... Thanks for the link...and nice story after the delivery-guy video made the rounds before the Xmas rush. |
