As a senior military official, Pennington has considerable experience of managing the deployment and operation of unmanned air vehicles across various sizes and mission types.
UAV's are the future, if you have an unlimited budget and don't mind hull losses.

Sometime....sure.....not before I retire. UAV loss rates are much higher than people realize.

I'll worry as soon as they have unmanned cargo SHIPS operating out at sea.

Having unmanned cargo ship across the pacific would not pay....those vessels cost a lot of money and generate more profit then the average flight. They run a skeleton crew that require no hotels and not so hard and fast duty times.

Plus ocean conditions are way less predictable. Up to 2 weeks at sea sometimes. A single flight to Asia, 10 to 12 hours has a lot less issues then a boat at sea.

When the first one shows up on property it would be wise to medical out somehow.........

As long as you can jam datalink signals, spoof GPS, and hack into computer programming, the prospect of UAV airliners (cargo or passenger) is non existent. More people on this planet have that kind of capability than you might think.
Food for thought.

I can also foresee the day when we will simply "Zap" stuff from one part of the world to another.
