FDX May Classes Cancelled

While I'm certainly not happy with the turn of events in HKG, I'm not ready to take everything in your post as gospel.
Since Fedex doesn't operate -400s, would you care to let us know how a non-Fedex pilot has such intimate knowledge of the situation in his first post to this forum?

ShyGuy,
The answer is as simple as complicated. The fired pilots believed that they were following the rules the way ALPA interpreted and they thought they were ok. The company has decided that their interpretations of the rules(LOA) is different from ALPA's interpretation. The HGK pilots asked for a clarification of the rules from ALPA and the company and none has been given so far. The company decided to terminate the pilots because they have not followed their rules. The problem is.... no one knows what the rules are.
There you go....

The 747-400 position listed in his profile?
Or, I guess he could be providing an elaborate disguise to throw off the company APC spies. Clever.
All they know now is that he might be a trucker who is also trained in the ways of the -400. Good thing he didn't put MD-11 or A300 in the profile, they'd have IDed him after his first post.
I'm not doubting his info, unfortunately. My confidence in our union's ability to enforce our contract and LOAs is shaken regularly.
So you verify that:
ALPA "allowed" the company to pursue punitive actions prior to the 18 month deadline specified in the LOA?
A pilot was fired even after contacting his CP, verifying what he was doing was not in violation and saving the emails detailing such an exchange?
Pilots were investigated and terminated without being initially notified and offered the option to use the amnesty program?

Keep in mind that so far none of the fired pilots has had his/her day in court/arbitration, with an opportunity to confront witnesses or even to submit their own testimony. Meanwhile FDX continues to refuse to release information that would show just how arbitrary and inconsistent its prosecution of the fired pilots has been. The ASCHR has subpoena powers, so FDX's attempts to obstruct justice won't last forever. BS's return to the line is a good indication that the company knows how vulnerable its own managers have made it in this case -- no doubt that's among the reasons the company has hired outside counsel to represent it in AK.
