Masters Degree
10 hand-carried rec's from guys who flew with you
Previous Air Force One experience "desired" but not required. IP time in C-5, C-17, KC-135 is acceptable substitute. IP time in bomber/attack aircraft also desired. Civilian equivalent is 500 hours PIC in International, Flat Panel turbine aircraft such as Global Express or G-5, with 300 hours PIC for every 100 hours PIC military.

A guy with 2000 hours PIC C-17 will get the same "points" on the FedEx computer as a guy with 6000 hours PIC in a G-5 under "Flight Experience" section.

If you have these, apply for interview. Get interview. Pass the gotten-interview. Pass the psych test. Pass the sim. All of above goes into a packet for "final review" by CP and HR

:D

So what you're saying is that my 2000ish hours of PIC Learjet time in North America only should be more than enough....

At least I update my profile every month, not sure why though.

Dude, we got no idea. Everything, and I mean everything, is now handled by those that I call "handler's" -- mostly lawyers and PR types. Everything the SCP puts out is vetted by corporate shysters and wordsmithed by a PR firm outta NY. None of us line types know the how's or why's to hiring because the company doesn't want us to know.

The best way to get "insight" would be to show up on day 1 of Indoc and ask the survivors.

Be sure to catch them before they sign the non disclosure agreement.

Clutch,

That is the funniest thing I've read out here in years. Funny, sad, and kind of true. My great uncle flew with Ernie - but alas - I think it might be hard to get a rec from him these days.

Thanks for the laugh.

Yes Lear but remember the "total picture" is what counts, GPA in your Masters work, what the 10 recommenders say about you, how much international time you have and whether that time was done flying heavy transport catefory aircraft such as 747 or MD-11 or merely was done via business jets such as Lear 60 or Hawker 800's. Also, how many years the recommender knew you and his current position at FDX is point into the scoring matrix. IE: a FDX assistant chief pilot who has known you since high school and flew with you at Top Gun scores higher than a line captain who knew you when you and him flew together since age 25 at Commuter Express.

Also, scoring matrix gives a higher score for prior Part 121 supplemental cargo time as Captain in a B747 to international destinations than a Captain in a Hawker for FraxExpress.

:p

Heard the same, even R. Olds and B. Hoover were sent packing. G. Rall couldn’t speak English so it makes sense he was released but they say he was low and fast as Olds, Hoover and Yeager were seen on his “6” as he exited stage left.
