UPS in ANC?

I'm seeing west coast guys bidding ANC, apparently an easier commute than SDF. It really depends on how they build the lines, one or two reports a month and it will be a commuters base... 3,4 or 5 reports a month and it'll get ugly up there. Another thing is they plan to move sims up there for training. Going to be a lot of guys in hotels and crashpads. Not to mention Humpies and F-Street!

The worst commute I used to have was SFO to Saipan, which sometimes took two to three days depending on CAL HNL-Guam, so ANC doesn't seem all that bad in comparison.

I remember asking you this question a few months back, and you were telling me all the standard horror stories of the summer commutes! Congrats on the Captain transition to ANC. How senior are you now up there?

Good point...the toughest time is when Alaska transitions from summer to winter schedules. There are still a bunch of cruise ships but fewer flights. I have heard people being stuck in ANC for three days trying to commute to SEA.
As for you, you ***** about your drive to the training center, so get off your high horse and join the working week.
UPS is going to open this thing with their usual skill and forethought.
