I stand corrected!

I had owed 9 days on a custom line once and she gave me 3 short SEA trips that blocked in at 0105. Each one counted for 3 days instead of 2. She gave me a good deal! (I've since been punished for the good deal; didn't know you could spread out 10 days of trips and r days so sparsely over 28 days!)

So if I have a carry over trip from November (carries over only one day in to Dec) and elect to protect min days off, will they drop that trip or will they remove R days from my Dec line?

Here is the official answer by scheduling:

December is a four week bid month. Minimum days off in a four week
bid month is 13.
If you have a min days issue, you may request which trip or trips you
would like to have removed for minimum days protection. This option
is taken during the conflict input window.
Requests for trip(s) to be removed are preferences only. We would
not remove trips over the holiday(s) unless no other option was
possible.
Also, we would not remove a carryover trip unless no other option was
possible.

Two days of work but one day's pay ................. great deal we got years ago by not getting Minimum Pay per Day, those 6 CH trips that use up two days

They won't touch the carryover; they'll remove an R day that best fits their manning needs.

A Futures person told me this week that they are being told to beef up manning for the week of 10 Dec.

That are the most senior trips in the bid pack (at least domestically).

Would any of you gurus know if min days off is protected with a VTO. I picked up a 5 day c/o trip into DEC. Unfortunately, I said no to min days off during the regular bid and it did not occur to me to elect min days off during the conflict/input window. In other words, do you think they will try to build a full line on my VTO on top of my c/o? Many thanks for any advice. (Naturally CRM is not answering the phone today)

BB,
Unfortunately, if you don't tell them to protect days off, they will build it right up to the limits. Meaning, your carryover and a full month of work.

I was afraid of that. Looks like I will need to attempt a drop or 2 later on. That's a lesson learned --- always protect min days off for December in case you pick up a c/o trip! I will put 'protect min days off' on the worksheet but I doubt that will help --- worth a try I suppose. Thank you and Happy TG!
