Normal FedEx Approach??

IF anyone becomes unemployed over this, said unemployement WILL NOT be "caused by" someone posting a link to a video on this message board.
It will be because someone operated an aircraft in a manner deemed unsafe and/or not in accordance with FedEx's/FAA's standards - PERIOD.
Please place blame/responsibility where it belongs.

Every company SOP may be slightly different but I think it's common to be fully configured by 1,000' AGL in IMC conditions and 500' in VMC. Before you "lock and load", every carrier may be slightly different.
In my freight dogs days in the three-holer, we used to have contests going into the hub whenever it was VMC. The rules were that once you pulled the thrust levers to idle on approach above 5,000', you could not move them again until the completion of the landing roll. The A/C had to be fully configured by 500' AGL as per company SOP. Talk about a great exercise to learn how the aircraft performs during the configuration process.
The good old days.

Pardon me. I should have used the word facilitated. Not blaming the OP. But, if the Company only knew about the occurrence due to this thread, I guess the thread would be a causal factor in any disciplinary proceedings. As I said, food for thought. If I havent clarified myself, sorry.
The point is - assume that the company (& the FAA) is ALWAYS watching you when you operate THEIR aircraft - nothing is secret in the age of the internet - anyone can record anything any time anywhere and it instantly becomes public knowledge - pilot web forum or no pilot web forum.
That was my point - I think we agree who is ultimately responsible & what the "causal factors" would be IF anyone loses their job over this event = the pilot and the act, not the recording/reporting of it.

Hope you don't have an app on file. I'd hate for you to have to fly in an environment you feel is unsafe. If you forward me your info, I'll be sure to pass your sentiment up the food chain.
