Many years ago, I got put on a company jumpseat from Subic to Singapore because I was revised and going to exceed 8 in 24 by a wide margin. A genius in the Subic crewroom told me that he wrote that section of the contract (he did) and that I could use the accepted fare for the Manila-Singapore leg (I couldn't). However I did spend the money.....and the company did get it back from me. Some of life's lesson are expensive.
