FDX Long sub

Did they try to give you a trip during the second sub window or did you decline sub before they tried?

Substitution Window
A pilot’s substitution window shall be the period beginning 4 hours
prior to showtime of the original trip (i.e., the trip or series of trips
that actually created the substitution eligibility) and ending 4 hours
after the termination of the original trip. For purposes of determining
a pilot’s substitution window, a series of trips not interrupted by a
legal rest period at base is considered a single trip.

You are correct. My bad. I've been on a 3 day bender and the thinker is not working correctly.
Everything I've said concerning this is wrong.
Having said that, even the ALPA calendar is incorrect on the sub decision tree. It asks if the "original trip was less than 72hrs AFB". But, as you've pointed out, the contract adds 8 hrs to the original trip's AFB to determine if you're in short or long sub.
