OK, the rumor I heard is that if no increase of postal contract, all 757 PW's parked and no recalls this year. Let's hope that's not the case.

I hope our guys and gals come back from furlough soon. Personally, I'm not seeing anything to indicate that recalls are coming anytime soon.

Also, I don't buy the hype about the postal contract. I wouldn't be surprised if FedEx keeps the whole contract and UPS gets zip. A Wall Street analyst said recently that they expect FedEx to keep all or most of it.

Just wait until management starts floating rumors of more furloughs with the combination of TNT and USPS failures.

My bet is on this scenario.

OnStep,
I don't think anyone can really answer that question. I have no faith in UPS's BOD or their "team" to obtain any additional contracts with large companies. There are more than a few that believe UPS will get a large portion of the USPS contract. I do not believe this will happen. FedEx gets all the talent once people realize how dysfunctional UPS actually is. Their marketing department is much better. They are very creative and aggressive. They don't have 10 bosses looking over their shoulder. I don't believe anyone as ever left FedEx to come to UPS. The reverse has happened many, many times (not just the airline). My point is I do not believe UPS will get any USPS flying (or trucking).

With all the penny pinching going on does anyone not believe the BIGGEST hurdle to the IPA group are the FQS's. They don't use the KCM program (big savings). Their iPad's are paid for by the company(the Union has ask all IPA crews to stop using them while they sort it out (of course there are some DB's out there still using them)). They are still hiring managers (there is a good size of management poolies out there)..........

OnStep if there were NO FQS's you would have NEVER been furloughed and we would have had to hire to replace the attrition going on.

Step one in the next contract.

Re-alignment bid out today. Adding captains and reducing FO's. I think a recall announcement soon.

I Don't think they are still hiring managers. I could be wrong though.
