Sad to say. Gone the way of the Navigator, Radioman, and others. Soon we'll be replaced by some kid sitting at his desk looking at screens.

So you are saying that my C-130 FE buddy who earned a DFC over Vietnam didn't deserve it?

You can always tell whether a pilot was once an F/E, by the way he does his walk around....looking at the ground for drippings.......

If you were ever assigned to a different parking area you were unfamiliar with, all you had to do was look for the oil stains and that is where you parked your 727.

You're right. I'm glad I'm closer to the end of my career rather than just starting out.
